Beef and Cheddar Pie

Recipe of the week uses GWT BEEF ground beef, we like to spice it up here with our hot Italian all beef sausage for a variety.

Ingredients:

1 pre-made pie crust (for a 9-inch pie)

1 pound ground beef

1 onion, chopped

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

2 eggs

1/2 cup milk

1/2 cup ketchup

1 tablespoon mustard

Optional: pickle relish, tomatoes, or additional toppings based on preference

Instructions:

Preheat Oven and Prepare Pie Crust:

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Place the pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish and set aside.

Cook the Beef:

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and onion until the beef is browned and the onion is tender. Drain any excess fat. Stir in garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

Add Beef to Crust:

Spread the cooked beef mixture evenly in the bottom of the pie crust. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the beef.

Mix Eggs and Condiments:

In a small bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, ketchup, and mustard. If using, add pickle relish or finely chopped tomatoes to this mixture.

Pour Over Beef:

Pour the egg mixture over the beef and cheese in the pie crust, making sure it spreads evenly.

Bake:

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the filling is set and the crust is golden brown.

Serve:

Allow the pie to cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm.
